Hip Hop Information Tour (HHITT)
HHITT is an in-progress project created to get African American kids interested in the fields of information technology and science through Hip Hop. My mark is based on the idea of the “cypher”, or circle, within Hip Hop culture. Stemming from Hip Hop’s early days when emcees would gather on street corners, forming a circle to freestyle and battle each other. The circle is also a foundational element within mathematics and science.
The focus of the program is the creation of a tour bus with onboard workstations and games involving Hip Hop, mathematics and science. The bus would travel to inner-city neighborhoods across the country to engage kids. The imagery on the buswrap reflects this combination of Hip Hop and technology. .
